Babysitter Wanted - B horror flick but actually much better than I thought it would be.

Deadgirl - Probably a fairly disturbing, I guess horror, film but it does have a great soundtrack.

Last House on the Left (remake) - Not horrible but it wasn't as if the original was fantastic

Watchmen - Everyone told me I would not like this but I actually enjoyed it. Did not read the graphic novel.

There were at least 10 quotable parts. I was overwhelmed.

my favorite: This movie starts out with a coherent storyline, for the first half hour or so, and then it just starts to spin faster and faster until the centrifuge of random events slams you into the walls.

it just reminds you of the uniquely bad meta-action movie that is bay's stock in trade and allows you to remember what it's like without having to get fooled again like i was a couple years ago when the first one came out.

I was lamenting aloud last night that even though I know I'm going to hate the movie with every fiber of my being, I am still in some pitiful way looking forward to seeing it at home on netflix. Such is the lingering power of the brand in its original form, ca. 1984, upon young Me.

God I want to strangle Michael Bay.

Great review at IO9.

But why would you wait to see this at home? If you're going to subject yourself to it, do it in the theater, on IMAX if you can.

its too easy on netflix to add a bunch of garbage to your queue. i do it all the time.

My wife controls our queue, mostly. I don't have the will anymore to corrolate her desired flicks and mine, so I just take what I can get.

The % of outright chickflickery has risen, accordingly.

I hated this movie.

I don't really know why. I like Michelle Williams enough, and she didn't do anything wrong. It was 2 hours of someone getting into really mild-mannered, slow-paced trouble because of poor planning, and then not much really happened and it just ended. I guess there wasn't anything glaringly bad about it at all, but at the end I wished I'd been doing laundry or changing my oil instead.

so did anyone else see Brüno yet?

went yesterday at lunch. some extremely funny bits, but overall not as good as Borat. and i still believe both are nowhere near as good as the original skits of these characters on Da Ali G Show.

the biggest problem i had with this movie was that, unlike Borat, there was no real reason he would have a camera crew with him for most of the scenes. if you can get over that fact though, there are some great laughs. i'll be interested to see what cut-outs make it to the dvd version.

Really liked this myself. I think its minimalism and atmosphere is what appealed to me. Diff'rent strokes.

Movie wasn't strong enough to incite hate, but I just thought it was "ok" and I don't see any reason to watch it again. Pretty much the same feeling I had when I saw Religulous on DVD over the weekend.

I really did not like Wendy and Lucy. and I like Michelle Williams and adore Will Oldham. I can't get down with the Americana thing. As in, not meh but I actively did not like the film.

I liked Religulous. Saw it alone on one of the $5 nites at the theater down my street. It was funny enough. You'd like it, neuroboy. Good rental.
