You also aren't world renowned for an open mind nor discerning taste.

I'm actually gonna go with Wilco on this one after some consideration. If I was Tim or Let it Be it wouldn't be a contest.

I think it beat Let It Be? Because Tim is their one good album and would have probably gotten my vote.

wilco.

If you had recently saw The Mats instead of Wilco, I think you would have went with The Mats.

Did you ever see the Mats in their heyday? Horrendous live concerts... half the songs were never finished. Somedays different band members playing different songs at the same time. Band members passing out, throwing up.

On other hand I saw Wilco two weeks ago and I worry over how happy and polished they are.

Tim would have beat Yankee... but I voted for Yankee.

Aside from "Can't Hardly Wait" (which, let's face it, is one of the best songs ever written by anyone in any era), Pleased To Meet Me is a pretty uneven and at times pedestrian album.

YHT has become one of the true benchmark "love it or hate it" albums. It used to really annoy me how much people liked it (mainly because I was really really burned out on it) but I'm over that. Its really pretty fucking good even if I pretty much only listen to live Wilco at this point.

The first :08 of "I.O.U." alone puts PTMM ahead of YHF as a whole. It's the American midwestern punk answer to The Stones' "Rocks Off"

For me, anyway.

War on War is a great song, but other than that, YHF kinda blows.

'Mats, and I happen to be with Thee Chad here (I think).

PTMM has some very nostalgic songs on it for me, it's my favorite 'mats, and Wilco has never done anything for me.

it's funny that the last 4 posts were for the 'mats, but they're still losing.

not when you look at the rest of the results -- lotta people around here with horrible taste who apparently only have one working digit, ie, enough to click to vote but not write a coherent statement in favor of their vote.

Not that it'd matter one whit. Bad taste is bad taste.

I mostly agree with you here. I'm puzzled though on how you feel comfortable making such statements when you are one of the first people to get high and mighty when Radcliffe makes a similar statement about a band you might like.

I suspect this could be said about almost every post in every one of these threads. As someone said before, the hyperbole is rampant.

All the remaining albums have some redeeming qualities. Both these are admirable. YHF is my favorite Wilco album, though, and PTTM is only my 4th favorite Replacements. no brainer for me.

But bad taste is bad taste.
