Downtown Appleton's alright, at least for walkin' around and eatin' italian food. It survived with its 2 and 3 story mixed-use buildings intact, anyway.

I just want an office where the employees address, you know, work issues.

That'd be nice.

call me a flaming lib, but if you stuck any other belief system or political position in these rants mad-lib style and pontificated just as loudly, you'd have HR up your ass by the end of the day

What, you brought LooGAR up there? You monster.

Also: Harry Houdini's father's synagogue. Oddly, quaintly beautiful.

Should have played "La Resistance" in Oshkosh... & tried to score some Indian food & lime juice off of some derelict UWO coed.

Yep it did burn down, I think about 8 or 9 years ago. Then finally owner Cathy regrouped and built my favorite music joint in madison, the High Noon Saloon, about 4? years ago.

The irish / country band I played with for years at the Crystal Corner only started playing there because OCay's (sp?) burned down the year before I got there. They had been the monday night band there for several years. I never saw it.

BOARD READING COMPREHENSION FAIL.

Cap'n just posted about getting rolled out of his car on Monday this week, or last, as he & the wife returned from Madison in time for the work-week.

Moved there with the Mrs (then the girlfriend) in... 2001? 2002? One of those. Stayed about 7 months through the winter, freaked out, moved back to Atlanta, realized I screwed up, moved back up there 9 months later and stayed until I finished grad school 2 years ago. Then I got a good job in Boston, and now we live here, but we miss Madison a shitton. We visit it often.

The coverage CNN is giving to the GOP morons questioning Sotomayor is stomach turning.

We run CNN Radio at the station top of each hour and for the past couple days their lead stories have been pretty much:

"But Senator Insert Dimbulb Klansmen here said Sotomayor's record shows a distinct bias...blah blah dee blah."

CNN, these clowns are loud, these clowns make for media theater, but you're fools and doing the country a disservice by painting them as anything like being representative of the country.

Sotomayor has had a look on her face for three days that says "you people are very, very stupid human beings but I'm going to get confirmed so I'll just wait you out."

Online news article feedback columns should never have been implemented. Why do otherwise decent news sites have this feature?

Franken's crack about Sotomayor not remembering which case Perry Mason lost was better than everything everyone on the panel has asked so far, combined.

Because dumbshit commentors keep going back to the sites to see what other dumbshit commentors have said/get into arguments. All in the name of raising page views, my good Cap'n.

And, thankfully, the courts have somehow found that anonymous online comments don't open the publisher up to libel suits.

GOD BLESS AMGERGIKAG!!!!

Is there a browser plug-in yet that keeps them from appearing? Because they make it really hard for me to pretend those people don't exist.

Page views. I didn't think of that.
