Surfaholics: Monsters & Men

The name is a bit deceptive as there's really not much obvious surf music going on here. It's mostly high energy trashy punk with some glam influence. Austrian band; good shit if you just wanna rock. Well worth tracking down.

Hex Dispensers: Winchester Mystery House

I liked the debut by these guys, but in my estimation this records kicks that one to the curb. A wee bit more polish and better recording coupled with a better batch of songs. Garagey hard-driving punk. A bit of a horror fixation, but then they toss in a cover of Devo's Gates of Steel. It includes Lose My Cool and My Love Is A Bat, a couple songs previously released as singles. Damn good record to play LOUD.
