I will actually ponder this further by playing the albums.

I might have to as well. Either way I'm going to feel like I'm cheating on the other.

Murmur beats Let It Be but Tim would have beat Murmur.

This one is probably the hardest choice for me yet.
If I went strictly on how much I enjoy the album TODAY, it would be Murmur, as I played the hell out of that 'Mats album back in college. Or, at least moreso than I did the REM record.

I think that Murmur has less filler than Let It Be. But then, it's the filler that gives Let it Be a lot of its personality.

Hell.
Based solely on how much I've loved it over the years, and with no objective criteria other than that.

Let It Be.

I actually don't like the way they changed the riff structure of this song.

I fucking hate the 80s. I'm voting Murmur for the Athens effect.

(Let It Be is a really, really terrible album guys)

Somewhere Bob Stinson is cracking the fuck up.

The fact that that song made it onto this album just makes me like the Mats even more.

Derris,

I like the idea of the song being on the album, and I'm ok with it not being all that faithful, but the way they re-wrote the riff just sucks compared to the original riff.

IMO they took an awesome original song and made a pretty shitty cover of it.

I mean, I get that you're the #1 solider in the Kiss army around here but it's shittiness is precisely why I like it and them.

I mean, they could've easily just put a drunken cover of "Takin Care of Business" on there. They're stupid, obnoxious, amatuerish at times, and at times the greatest ever.

The fact that they could hit you with "Androgynous", "I Will Dare", and a piss take "Black Diamond" all within 10 minutes made 'em awesome and ridiculous all at the same time.

In fact, this post may have made up my mind to vote 'Mats.

I like this album quite a bit. I just don't like their version of that song, and it actually has very little to do with me being a KISS uber-fan. I just think they changed the melody for the worse. If they had taken any song and done the same thing, my criticism would be exactly the same. I don't really like it when artists fuck with the melody of a song in covers. There are exceptions I guess, but normally I'm a pretty harsh critic when it comes to this, which is just my own thing I guess.

It probably would have been better if they had just covered "Strutter '78."
