So I know it is extremely early and a lot of people don't care, but Rivals has been doing a top 120 of all FBS/I-A teams and they are currently up to #25.

The Obner teams from my memory are ranked as:

102. Syracuse
97. Washington
68. Boston College
64. UCLA
63. Navy
62. Tulsa
61. Vanderbilt
60. Northwestern
59. Maryland
50. Arkansas
49. Wisconsin
48. Pittsburgh
42. Missouri
41. Colorado
38. NC State
37. Rutgers
33. Cincinnati
27. Nebraska
36. Oregon State

somehow I highly doubt anyone actually follows Vanderbilt football. Maybe only those of us who are fans of the SEC in general.

I believe Chase was a fair-weather fan while he attended the school and they had Cutler, I guess he doesn't post much here now, so they can be ignored.

Ignore them at your own peril. I've seen many a giant fall to the 'dores due to overconfidence (including my beloved Dawgs). They get one of the big gun teams every single year, but usually just one. I actually really like Bobby Johnson as a coach. He just can never get enough horses there to ever really make a run.

SEC media days start Wednesday in Birmingham so things should really start heating up for the season after this week. Should be interesting. First time Little Kiffy will be in the same room with Urban Crier and Spurrier who he's taken shots at all off season. Not to mention Saban having to take questions about taking shots at Bama Nation after the bowl game.

I'll reserve any predictions for the season just yet. I will say that I think UGA will be a better TEAM this year than last and I like that we are being pretty much overlooked at this point after Florida, Bama, LSU, Ole Miss. Richt is best in the underdog role.

#24 is Notre Dame, you could make jokes about them being I-AA.

Their schedule is pathetically easy and Rivals predicts them to go 9-4.

When will the madness end? Is it going to take all the ancient guys in the sports media who remember the old ND to die off?

I guess they think that #2 recruiting class from '08 will pay dividends this year? Other than that I can't see any reason they should even sniff the top 25.

Although, I'd argue against their schedule being pathetically easy. There are certainly a couple of bad games on there but they also play USC, UConn, Nevada, MSU, Boston College, Pitt, and Navy, all of which played in bowl games last year. I realize playing in a bowl game isn't necessarily the bar of excellence these days but it does mean they had better years than ND.

Also, I think Michigan will be much imroved this year.

I searched the web over but to no avail. All taken down for fear of lawsuits or are now viral links.

13-0 and National Champions is my prediction.

I'm holding you to this, and if Okie State somehow beats you in the opening game I will mock you to no end for that weekend.

I agree, but I voted for it anyway. Out of the four albums remaining, I listen to it the most.

That my good man, was in the hopes of having a wheelchair bound baldy go General Sherman through a wide swath due north -- TO NEBRASKA.

Also, hyperbole understanding fail, prometh.

What was Richt's record against Florida during the Zook interregnum? If not that good, I'd go with OK ST for the upset. That coach in Stillwater pisses intensity at least as heartily as RZ.

No disrespect to my colleagues from Georgia, but the Dawgs won't have the offense that the Ducks had. I'd suspect the Dawgs are more likely to shut out the Cowboys.

i don't care how "easy" their schedule is, ND won't do any better than 7-6...probably worse.

Regardless, it's easily going to be the best game of the opening weekend and I will be drunker than cooter brown.

I actually looked into going to the game but flights were ridiculously expensive for that weekend. Upwards of $600 just to fly Delta into OK City. No rooms were available within 30 miles of Stillwater and when the ticket form came the OSU away tickets were $100 each for face value.

That is just fucking out and out greed and a fuck you to UGA fans. Even our worst rivals have never charged more than $55 for face value if you qualified to buy them.

On paper, OSU looks pretty fucking tough and they bring back a shitload of people. But, as they say, eveyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth and Richt's road record is unfuckwithable.

Me and Zupan (and a special not-yet-announced Austin visitor) are planning the battle trail.

NONE ARE SAFE

After the dogpiling you've taken from them the last few days?

I don't take offense to it. I usually chalk it up to the fact that I won't make a big stink of it and I'm somewhat high profile on the board. Plus, Derris was the only person from the Georgia crew hammering me on the album poll.
Loogar didn't jump in until I attacked the Dawgs.
