Pixies hold their own. I am a little surprised.

A whitewash by Sticky Fingers would have completed the takeover of the CMJ/Obner community by the Derris-led Athenians.

Doolittle for me. I find most Stones albums to be incredibly overrated

Nah, I think Pixies eventually take it if all that have the inclination to vote do so.

Revolver was my pick to go all the way in this contest because it largely appeals to "both sides". More surprising was how far these Stones and Pixies albums went here.

This is genuinely crazy. I thought a Beatles/Stones winner was a lock to win. Once we got down to the elite eight, I wouldn't have thought any album would have gotten within ten votes of the Beatles or the Stones.

Stones.

It would be closer if it were Come on Pilgrim or Surfer Rosa, but even then, Stones.

Well, this is pretty much fucking terrible. But....

I'm not necessarily so sure of this. I could easily see an anti-established classic vote happening in favor of a more modern classic. In the end, despite the many discerning music fanatics here, both of the albums here represent much of the collective tastes of the board.

Also, IMO, attributed to the anti-HiVEG vote.........aka...........the anti-Loogar vote

RS....but do I need to show how this poll is flawed? The 'winning' album can actually be no one's top album

Keep in-mind that this is a FAVORITES poll, and that overexposure will certainly play a role in the outcome. I have been surprised at how close it's been, until I started thinking about that fact.

The nostalgia of the Baby Boomers and Classic Rock Radio has killed the ability to enjoy more than one or two great records for a lot of us.

I agree, but I voted for it anyway. Out of the four albums remaining, I listen to it the most.

The final FAIL in your coffin with regards to this tournament.

You can't fault me for honesty and I didn't include any Loog speak in it.

I can appreciate honesty but in the other thread you said that Doolittle was half filler and you could live without hearing half of it.

So by that standard, are you saying that Sticky Fingers has even MORE filler on it?

Don't blame me. You're the one who brought me to this fucking fail corner of the INKERNEKS.

Well why the fuck are you listening to classic rock radio in the first place?

And at this point of the continuum, Doolittle is more over-exposed than Sticky Fingers. It's been years since I've been able to listen to "This Monkey Gone To Heaven" all the way through. And even though everyone and their oldest auntie have probably heard "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" too many times, how many can seriously say they've listened to "Sway" or "Moonlight Mile" too much?

And listen, I LOVED the Pixies. But, like Pavement, they were a triumph of form over content. Really, this is a no-brainer for anyone with ears.

I went Stones, but I'm not slavishly devoted to either album, really. Both are those bands I like OK, but it always seems others like 'em both a ton more.
