OPA is known to pal around with ACORN

I was thinking more of, oh, I don't know, small town elections in the rural south with successful strategies to suppress the voting of people of color.

Also, suggested Obner language use rules:

1. No use of the construction "I loves me some...."
2. No use of "fail" in all of its mutilated language forms. Especially heinous if modified by "epic."
3. Posting whilst drunk does not exempt anyone from these rules.

With the Pixies winning (so far), that basically means Radiohead finished fifth in this event. I'll accept that, although it did perform much better against Doolittle than Pavement did.

FWIW, I wish it was Bossanova that was slaying Sticky Fingers instead of Doolittle.

I don't do that.

I cared about the poll for several rounds, and then it came down to two albums I don't care that much about.

Yes you do. 98% of the posters on here go into "I don't really care mode" at the first sign of an argument. And they all profess not to read the board that closely or worry about what others think.

Which is why there is so much reading comprehension fail on here.

Fuck you. You know I don't back down from an argument. I say I don't care if I don't care.

As usual you're attacking a straw man ("98% of the posters on here"), not me.

But fuck you, seriously. I care enough to say that. You feel the need to jump on me at any given opportunity? FUCK. YOU. You are a sad, pathetic fuck desperate to show/create his own worth by trying to diminish others. You and Radcliffe and handful of others on here. Fuck you.

I really should get away from this place for a while, though. I definitely don't need it. Who does?

Fuck you.

Jesus, Drink...touchy much?

I didn't know calling you on your bullshit was going to elicit such a response.

And I didn't want to list out all of the Timmy Joes and Jewels Santanas that are unable to follow the most basic thread topics and conversations.

and for full Tim Russert effect, there's this.

I've kinda noticed that throughout this entire tournament (and to a certain extent, this is the overall tone of the board in general), the M.O. for some of the participants has been to be irritatingly faux-confrontational, and then indignantly shocked when someone gets fed up with the irritating faux-confrontation.

I sort of got used to it and even look forward to it at times, but I can certainly understand how someone could overreact to this, and hopefully those who are irritatingly faux-confrontational might also understand how someone could overreact to this too.

Anyway, whoever wins this, this was actually a REALLY great idea and made for a damn fun time for three or four weeks. Thanks to OPA for doing all the work. I was really skeptical but it really worked out well. I wouldn't mind doing another one in maybe a different way soon - perhaps several albums on "teams" or something like that. For example, a 5 album team vs. another 5 album team, which would probably polarize the voting less. I also think we should vote in posts rather than polls to timestamp it and to ensure no one's using gimmicks.

I like Derris's Term "Astronomic Flounder". It seems like someone should be using it as an awesomely bad band name. I too enjoyed myself during this process, even if my music taste was publicly ridiculed a little.
I wouldn't consider this exercise to be an overwhelming success. The seeding and pairings were never really logical, especially the full bracket system after having a FIFA World Cup Style pool play.
Who's going to do the Obner bracket now?

Expect the regions to have naming similar to the Obner Fantasy Baseball League divisions (O3CR & Ting-Ting La-La). Not the same, but of a piece.

There will definitely being a FAIL region (though not necessarily indicative of the failure/"failure" of the posters slotted there).

Incredible. It'll be larf, but I also have no doubt that Rome will burn in the process.
