OK, let's do this.

THE PROCESS
Step 1: Members of Obner will nominate 3 albums. Any 3 albums released between January 1st, 2000 and July 1st, 2009, that they feel should be included.
Step 2: The first 160 albums nominated will be randomly placed in 32 groups of 5 albums. Members will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite album in each group.
Step 3: The top 2 vote getters in each group will then participate in a 64-album March Madness-style tournament to determine Obner’s Pick for Best Album of the 2000s. The rankings will be determined by the votes each album receives in the group stage (ie. the more votes an album gets, the higher its ranking).

NOTE: Please make sure you don't nominate an album that's already been nominated.

Stop being nice around here, Rod. It will ruin your reputation.

i'm doing something like this on my other board regarding 2000 releases. doing a poll for an album a week until the end of this year. have already covered stuff like Spoon, White Stripes, Strokes and doing Franz Ferdinand this week with Arcade Fire coming next week. it has led to some great discussions.

anyways my three will be:

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
The Knife - Silent Shout

By all means, go ahead. I don't have a problem with it. It was your idea to begin with.

No no, this will work fine.

(my idea was to have all participating obners nominate ten albums each, one from each year and then whittle it down from there. pretty big idea. your way works just fine. :D)
