Not really sure what criteria we're voting on.
So... whatever.

And, either way, what does it matter?

Its hard to argue that this isn't stupid, silly or rather pointless. That said, at least so far, it hasn't crossed the line of being mean-spirited. There's potential for that and maybe then I'll abstain but for now I'm not above participating in stupid, silly board exercises.

I love how the common reactions to this are

a) "this is dumb"
and
b) "I'm not even in it"

don't drag this out that long! i leave for vacation next week.

I'm speeding it up, as I call races. Adding the 6/11 pairings now.

Ha, I was just noticing that! From a mod's point of view, I can also see the "hidden" people which adds even more to the list.

I'm thinking this thing doesn't get good until the mean-spiritedness kicks in.

I'm not anti-silly or stupid, but I see no reason to encourage you and rparis to edge each other in public anymore than you already do. However, it is mighty white of you to offer to possibly abstain after it gets mean spirited.

This potentially could be the most entertaining thread of all.

perhaps the best argument against the polls isn't that they are stupid or mean but that they are pretty boring

Just like the forced choices tests at school, they don't really push you to think too deeply. I suggest we assign essay questions.

I manage to get through that part all right the first time. Thanks for taking the time to bold it though. I'll be a bit clearer with my question: Did I miss a particular reason or event that caused you and billyg to being edging each other in public, aside from the usual reasons.

i dont think we do, so not sure what is meant. the only thing we are guilty of is bringing jokes from chatzy to the board.
