Yes, I'll take it from here. I'll also be adding albums from the Shmoo Poll, best of lists online, etc.

Overall, I suspect that there will be at least 320 albums entering this thing.

If are still able to influence Obaman's "I'll take it from here..." then Vadislav Delay's Four Quartets, and Deaf Center's Pale Ravine were two of the best elctronic/ambient works of the last 30 years.

I think you'll find that the final list will be quite diverse, at least as it relates to the more popular genres like electronic, hip-hop/rap, and rock - both indie and regular. ;)

This officially begins tomorrow (Friday).

64 groups of 5 albums released between January 1st, 2000 and July 1st, 2009. That's a total of 320 albums. The top vote-getter from each group will advance to the 64-album tournament. The seedings will, again, be determined by the amount of votes each album gets in the group stage.

Also...
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

Surprised that one didn't make it, because the buzz was so recent. Or maybe that's why it didn't make it?

Ha. ...it was between Califone's Roots and Crown and Radiolina (which I liked better than Proxima Estacion) for the third spot.

Jesus, the all-time album list had plenty of stuff I didn't like, but are people even at all serious with these nominations for album of the decade?

Wow I've forgotten that album. Probably because the end of the alphabet is currently hard to reach in my apartment. Need to remember to pull that out this week.

With the poll where wilco's yankee hotel foxtrot in mind, what do you say to featuring an extra bracket in the tournament containing the top losing albums with the highest percentage votes?
