Oh yeah, I always want to order that one. Very integral part of my childhood. Quick Billy Ripken story:

Met him several times as a kids at card shows/dealerships etc. My family actually sorta got to know him cause he signed a ton at a dealership in which were we friends with the owners. I preface the story with that only because its funny to see the impression of a 10 or 11 year old me get shattered when this occurred like 3 years ago.

Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen. My friend and I are taking in a game, when we hear this awful moaning sound. Its like a dying moose. Guttural. We keep turning around to see what it is, but can't see anything. Finally we get up and go to the main concourse. Bill Ripken is drunk and wandering through yelling "Viiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiolet" over and over. Just stumbling along. Finally, some people from presumably the Ironbirds management come and take him into a hallway. Violet is Vi Ripken, their mom. I have no idea how he got that drunk or why he was looking for his mom, but there you go. Of course no one wanted to approach him, because he's Billy, and well, its Cal's ballpark.

Why do classic rock DJs even come on & announce the bands they just played?

"That was Aerosmith, followed by Led Zeppelin, followed by Van Halen, with The Eagles before that."

Well, no fucking shit.

Most of us here are Americans.
Therefore, we don't generally follow the most-popular sport in the world; at least not with the keen interest of the rest of the world.

Still basically isolationists, at heart. At least sociologically, even if not politically.

Actually, THAT is the same here.
Any celebrity will get a pass, especially if they are a (still active) sport superstar.

But yeah, good news for your team for the upcoming season.

For American equivalent see:

Oj Simpson, Kobe Bryant, and more recently Ben Roethsberger.

Thanks for that, because I wasn't sure what an "affray" was in the other article I read about him. I hadn't heard about the incident, but I've always liked Gerrard.

It really is, in the Suzanne Sommers/Jane Fonda way.

The last time I went to mass before we went to a Catholic wedding in December, I think I was 14 or 15. I knew every word.

I go to Methodist Church now and have trouble remembering their recitations and jingles.

This is so shameful I can't even accuse Obnerds of doing something like this:

Love in 2-D
By LISA KATAYAMA

Nisan didn’t mean to fall in love with Nemutan. Their first encounter — at a comic-book convention that Nisan’s gaming friends dragged him to in Tokyo — was serendipitous. Nisan was wandering aimlessly around the crowded exhibition hall when he suddenly found himself staring into Nemutan’s bright blue eyes. In the beginning, they were just friends. Then, when Nisan got his driver’s license a few months later, he invited Nemutan for a ride around town in his beat-up Toyota. They went to a beach, not far from the home he shares with his parents in a suburb of Tokyo. It was the first of many road trips they would take together. As they got to know each other, they traveled hundreds of miles west — to Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, sleeping in his car or crashing on friends’ couches to save money. They took touristy pictures under cherry trees, frolicked like children on merry-go-rounds and slurped noodles on street corners. Now, after three years together, they are virtually inseparable. “I’ve experienced so many amazing things because of her,â€

Loog, you've obviously not heard of the men who own several life-like dolls that they claim to be in 'love' with. There was a programme on TV not too long ago about it.

Just finished watching "High Noon" with Gary Cooper and a very young Grace Kelly. Watching this film took me back to the day when I was a wee one, watching westerns with my pops. I doubt there was a western film that wasn't missed in our household because of him.
