I play a fair amount, but not as much as I used to since bitterbuffalo got me into mountain biking. I still love the game though.

I usually shoot in the 80's/low 90's--never have broken 80 on a "real" course.

Definitely a frustrating game, but also can be the most satisfying. I'd highly recommend lessons to anyone contemplating taking it up.

wtf, a thousand bucks for a hole in one in mini golf??!

it was the 7th hole or something. you had to put down a dollar. it went over a curved hill and the hole was off center. my sister and her boyfriend went before me and totally missed and i was just like "fuck it" and hit the ball and it bounced off a side and went it.

...and they wonder why this country is in financial ruin.

I used to play everyday back in high school (when I was on the golf team), but now I'm lucky if I get out once or twice a month. But on a good day I can shoot an honest 83-85 and drive it somewhere between 280 and 315 yards. Shot an 89 when I played on Friday.

My best golf story: Hit a big slicing drive in high school that ended up hitting a car right in the middle of the windshield. A little Ford Fiesta. And this massive guy got out and marched up to the clubhouse and boy was he pissed! I mean like 450-500 lbs massive. We all just high-tailed it to the next hole before he saw us.

To this day I can't figure out how he fit into that car...

I wailed some polish lady on the shin playing Waveland in Chicago. My ball sliced right through the fence onto the lake shore bike path. I was so relieved not to have smashed some baby in the face that I didn't care that it was some fat lady's shin. Her husband was so mad that he threw my ball back at me. I thanked him for returning it and kept playing. that made him more mad.

the waveland course might be the most frustrating place to play. not because its hard but because that is where all of the crappy golfers of chicago come to play, and 9 holes take like 4 hours. ridiculous

I don't play, but my ole pal Calcavecchia from Laurel, NE set a PGA record recently when he had 9 straight birdie holes. That guy is 49yrs old and almost looks as bad as John Daly.

Not as much as I lead on, Calcavecchia is related to one of my best friends, so I know him and most of his Nebraska relatives.

I use a set of John Daly clubs I got at Target for 50% off. They are surprisingly decent for $75.
