This is the first part (the group stage) in Obner's efforts to pick the best album released in the 2000s. In the group stage, there will be 64 groups of 5 albums. The top vote-getter in each group will advance to the 64-album tournament.

Please vote for the album that you feel deserves to be in the tournament. The deadline for this group is Wednesday, July 29 at 1:00PM Eastern Time.

I don't know who David Thomas Broughton is.

This is between Okkervil and Edan for me. Will have to relisten to Edan.

Lucero by a good stretch. Somedays it's my favorite of theirs. "The War" is the most devastating song they have done to date IMO.

Never really was drawn in by Okkervil River's stuff even if they did have couple of nice moments.

I liked the singles on The Black Album but that's about it.

This is me, too. I don't get the love for OR. It's kinda plain jane.

My favorite Okkervil River.

I kinda feel the same way about Lucero as you do about OR, DumpJack.

What is with you fucking retards and white rappers?

If you voted Edan over Jay Z you should strangle yourself with the strap of your shoulder bag, and that Jay record isn't even that great...
