This is the first part (the group stage) in Obner's efforts to pick the best album released in the 2000s. In the group stage, there will be 64 groups of 5 albums. The top vote-getter in each group will advance to the 64-album tournament.

Please vote for the album that you feel deserves to be in the tournament. The deadline for this group is Thursday, July 30 at 1:00PM Eastern Time.

Dylan, I've never really enjoyed the Libertines or any Libertine related band.

It's a shit sandwich with wet turd mayo, and a glass of piss on the side.

And how is an album that got an RS cover, 5 stars and made almost every year end list it came out underrated?

I think the case can be made that the post 1974 Dylan albums combined suckitude easily surpasses that of everyone's favorite dinosaur joke: the Stones.

Breally? I guess PGMG, but I wouldn't have any of these near my top-64 of the 00's.

Max Tundra deserves at least one vote.

That's probably about right but it still beats these.

A case can be made but not not one that i'd agree with. Dylan probably has a few more albums worth hearing in that period but I'm not going to waste time trying to defend either's post 74 catalog as a whole.

goooooo Man Man! By far the best live experience of any of those... great album, too. Though probably too Waits/Zappa/weird for most people on this board.

Out of 468 ranked albums on my 'Konstantiranks' list, that Max Tundra album is 466th.

I can therefore say with some authority its the third worst album I've heard this decade.

i thought i would like it based of that kind of description, but the album didn't grab me at al. I'm still curious to hear them live.

In spite of the fact that playing a melodica apparently makes you somehow a joke, went with Max Tundra. Easily one of the most interesting albums of this decade.

I was so-so on the album until I saw it live. Just don't see them in Philly if you can at all help it. Crowd goes ape-shit. In all the bad ways.
