I like all these to a certain degree, but Kill The Moonlight gets my vote.

Spoon is a top 5 band for me these days. I still like Neko, but prefer her older work and don't put her in quite the same league as Spoon.

Everything's so easy for Paulene....

This is straight fucking shenanigans. My favorite Spoon vs favorite Neko.

But, Neko. To me, this is her masterpiece. It totally goes beyond any alt-country songstress record and is something entirely different. Yes it has one foot in that tradition and there are songs in the traditional sense but there are also these mood pieces with no choruses that just feature her voice. Those give me the sense of some jazz record almost at times. Just one of those records that still reveals things to me as I listen to it. "That Teenage Feeling" is as good now as when I first heard it and the gospel inflected "John Saw That Number" feels like it is something from the 1940's Deep South.

Tough record to pin down and I don't want to.

Throw in members of Calexico, The Sadies, and GARTH HUDSON and you've got one of my Top 5 records of this decade.

Well put, sir. Still in awe of this record.

"Two Words", "Jesus Walks", and "All Falls Down" are all pretty good tracks...if you like that kind of thing, which I do.
