This is the first part (the group stage) in Obner's efforts to pick the best album released in the 2000s. In the group stage, there will be 64 groups of 5 albums. The top vote-getter in each group will advance to the 64-album tournament.

Please vote for the album that you feel deserves to be in the tournament. The deadline for this group is Monday, August 3 at 1:00PM Eastern Time.

The Wrens vs Spoon, this could be epic.

Not as epic as National v. Arcade Fire...

I went with Spoon

I don't have anything against that Wrens album, I just didn't like it as much as most people here. I'm not a big fan of GCT either. I'm pretty ambivalent between those two. No interest in the other three.

This seems more epic, since National and Arcade Fire have actual competition in that grouping.

Pretty close between The Books, Herbert, and Spoon for me.

I'll go with The Books.

Between Herbert and The Books, I'll take The Books, though that Herbert is great as well.

Should've just put all the Spoon albums in one group.

Still, Spoon.

& still fuck the Wrens.
