This is the first part (the group stage) in Obner's efforts to pick the best album released in the 2000s. In the group stage, there will be 64 groups of 5 albums. The top vote-getter in each group will advance to the 64-album tournament.

Please vote for the album that you feel deserves to be in the tournament. The deadline for this group is Monday, August 3 at 1:00PM Eastern Time.

probably my least favorite SFA, but still wins out over the rest.

i'm sure i'm in the minority in this, but that notwist has not aged well for me at all.

Also like that BR album, but not quite as much as those two.

Neon Golden will be a finalist in this godawful tourney. It's good enough, plus it's just sad bastard enough to lure in the SSM/straw man bloc.

Eh, Notwist.

I liked that one track from Lift To Experience that was on a lot mixes but the rest of that album is pretty damn boring. Radiator is the only SFA album i like at all. Blonde Redhead sucks and all wolves bands suck even the ones I've never heard like this one.

I'm surprised someone nominated that Blonde Redhead. I'm voting for it.

This might be the strongest grouping yet... no overwhelming standout album, but I'd vote for most of these if they were scattered in the different groups. I went with Wolves In The Throne Room... less because it is the best, and more because it is the most unlike the others.

Lift to Experience was pretty damn popular back in the CMJ days. Surprised they haven't garnered a single vote yet. Were most of their fans lost in the CMJ to Obner transition? I'm trying to remember who liked 'em that's still here. Marianfudge? Chase? Stop Breathin?

Yeah, Lift to Experience was my nom. Still listen regualrly, and it still holds up. Too bad Josh Pearson has some kind of personality disorder.

I'm not considering who is running the polls... :D

Third one in a row I got nothing for.

Yeah, but I thought OPA only liked their newer albums.
