Did anyone know this was coming? Has it already been out for awhile?

this is one of those bands that I never really think about how much I enjoy until I'm listening to it. Their last album was the soundtrack for my entire time in Savannah and sporadically since. I tend to be indifferent the first time I hear it, but in love with it after a listen or two.

So yeah, has anyone heard it yet? Is it pretty much on par?

I'm a fan of the band.
Had no idea that they had a new album coming out.
Looking forward to it!

EDIT:
I just bought their last one from Amazon for 1¢

The leadoff track, 'Who Fingered Rock and Roll', is on mega-repeat right now.

I had this in my np last week, but Obnerds were collectively too busy listening to the new Yo La Tengo. This Cornershop album is full-on into their pop side, with any suggestion of raga used merely as window dressing. It's a little late to be the perfect summer album, but still... perfect summer album.

Why didn't you start a thread about it?

ooh...Cornershop fans on here!

I've just heard the early singles and the interim stuff Tjinder was doing b/w Handcream and this. Currently on order.

Anyone on here dig old Cornershop? Like HOIH or Woman's Gotta Have It?

I remember hearing one single they did after Handcream, ("Topknot"?), but nothing other than that. Was there a lot?

I enjoy their early stuff, but I enjoy the groove (rut?) they're in now. It's not overly complex or ambitious, but it has a great mood to it and can make a good, sunny day a hundred times better. Which I like.

Well, please keep in mind that I haven't heard a whole helluva lot from '09. Still, I am really digging this.

2nd track sounds like Beulah with an Indian influence. Good stuff so far...
