I took my camera home on friday, or so I thought, so I could take pictures of an italian car and bike show on Sunday. Sunday comes, and I can't find the camera, so I figure I must've forgotten it at the office friday, even though I was REALLY SURE I remembered to bring it home. Got in to work yesterday, no camera, and I begin to wonder if it somehow got stolen from me... otherwise where is it?

Then at about 4pm yesterday I remembered what ELSE I brought home on Friday... a saddle bag full of shredded brown paper to dump into the compost bin. The soupy, vomitous, WAY unbalanced compost bin that badly needed more paper and soil added, hence me bring some home. Like a fucking moron, I put the camera in that same saddle bag, figuring all that shredded paper would make a great cushion for it on the ride home.

Sped home, grabbed some rags and a plastic bag and cleaning shit, and sure enough there in the rotten compst bin sat my camera bag, steeping in greenish brown shitwater for 3 days. The case was a write-off (I almost puked getting it unzipped with a bag over my hand). The camera did get some juice on it, but I spent half an hour outside carefully using an enzyme cleaner on it, and now it's in front of a fan, and actually doesn't smell whatsoever. But I think it's toast... early tests were not promising. FUCK.

I hope it was a crappy camera.

It wasn't super expensive ($240 I think it was, a few months ago) but it was relatively new, and I had grown to love it for what it was good at.

Mine still looks like that. When I turned it on late last night, it thought I was hitting several buttons that I wasn't, and kept cycling through the same few screens. I am not optimistic.
