Saw MOON over the weekend -- Sam Rockwell was superb in this film!

I'm late to the game...but the Hangover is comedy gold. One of the funniest movies ever. LOVE IT!

I thought In the Loop was hilarious.

Don't know about funniest ever, but the malign, albeit B-grade, review in the ONION for it makes little sense. Especially in light of the ONION genuflecting to the Altar of Apatow (meaning they have a low-bar for riotously funny).

... Then again, I suppose their AoA worship implies they don't know what funny is, period.

Rockwell was good to great, but the movie was mediocre.

Saw The Hurt Locker last nite. Apparently, after getting PWND by B-Rabbit at the battle at end of 8 Mile, dude decided to man-up & join the service. Good for him.

But first he decided to sell yeyo to Ryan Gosling.

Saw Funny People last night, and it is absolutely awful. I really think I'm starting to hate Seth Rogen.

Haven't seen it and have no desire to but yeah, that whole crew is officially overexposed.

I don't wanna jump on any Apatow-hate bandwagon, but Seth Rogan really isn't funny.

I'm still OK with Jonah Hill, but can see eventually becoming tired of him, as well.

Not exposed enough: Leslie Mann.

She may not be talented, she may be the comedy equivalent of Helena Bonham Carter, but I will say that Judd outkicked his coverage -- & I mean that truthfully, not in the put-on humility way of those (here) who use the expression of themselves -- in that one.

First half was definitely better, but it was more like...

First half of the movie 1.5/5
Second half of movie 0.5/5

Review. 2/5

district 9. pretty good. i don't want to ruin much, but let's just say the trailers aren't terribly representative of the actual movie.

Is that out tomorrow, or next Friday? Or is it one of those god-awful "for summer, a Wednesday opening" things?

next friday, 8/14. i'll be interested to see how it does and how word of mouth affects it. i could see it go either way with audiences.

Interested in District 9

I thought Funny People was Apatow's best film, which may not be saying much, but I would rather watch any Apatow film than the shitfest of The Hangover any day. Hangover had a great premise but totally shit the bed on the follow-through. The gay asian mobster is easily the worst character in a film since the guy with the lisp in The Hills Have Eyes II.

I do think the Leslie Mann comments from Oily Teez were pretty apt though. haha

I'd say Funny People was a 3/5 for me. I didn't regret seeing it in the theater.

What's to say Leslie Chao (played by Ken Jeong, from the Apatow Repetory Co.) was gay? Seemed like a straight-flamer to me... & considering the slideshow over the credits featured a large black (female) escort hovering of Chao's lap, I would suppose myself correct in the assumption.
