I wrote them off after seeing them at Bowery Ballroom in '04. One of the worst live shows I've ever seen by a "major" band.

The wife and I were kinda heartbroken. It was all James Mercer, every harmony, every guitar solo, everything good pretty much. So live, it was pretty limited. Plus the bassist thought he was really funny, when he wasn't. Painful banter between songs. Still love the records.
