"prep" (think Walkmen, Vampire Weekend, I noticed them on Rilo Kiley guitar player at least 5 years ago) hipsters have been wearing them for at least 6 years D.

Fratters quit wearing them for about a decade and latched back around 3 years ago.

THEM probably wear them because they're preppy, and that's been in with THEM for several years now.

You need to dig your head out of the metal world's quicksand.

Yeah, I see dudes in khakis, button downs, a tie, top siders and fucking sunglasses with croakies going to work on the regular.

I had a pair of knockoffs in Jr. High, that I wore a ton.
I see all sorts of white trash folk still wear the knockoffs as dress shoes.
I don't remember seeing Blake Sennett of Rilo Kiley sport them at all.
I also rarely see hipsters wearing them, right now I see a lot of Yachting shoes without socks, capri pants and pastel outfits, think ghey Miami Vice.

Dale, spend one hour on a weekend in any Southeastern town and you'll see these everywhere, paired with the frat-flop or Bama bang

My best friend from back home has been wearing them year-round as long as I've known him. I actually emailed him 3 months ago about this phenomenon. Told him he was finally in style--if only for a fleeting moment.

I never realized that they ever went out of style.
