I didn't see a specific thread for them yet. I apologize if I missed it.

I imagine the Aussie's on the board may have heard of them, and given the hype that seems to be emerging for them over here for their debut they may even be tired of hearing about them. I dunno.

I've only heard 4 tracks of the album so far, Sweet Disposition being "the best". This track was featured in 500 Days of Summer.

Here's what allmusic says:

The Temper Trap's mix of choirboy vocals and ringing, U2-influenced guitars earned them significant buzz in Melbourne, Australia, where the band first rose to local prominence after playing the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival in March 2006. The Temper Trap released its debut EP that same year, and word of the group's potential soon spread to other continents. Veteran British producer Jim Abbiss (who previously helmed the Arctic Monkeys' meteoric debut) saw similar promise in the Temper Trap's panoramic sound. Flying to Australia, he gathered the musicians into Melbourne's Sing Sing Studios and helped ready their debut album for a 2009 release.

I imagine a lot of you around here will hate it. Some may like it. I am unsure about it at this point.

I thought this was an interesting take on them:

[quote="random blog"]I have never felt more a part of the zeitgeist than last night. The Temper Trap, to put it bluntly, are so now. Like Wavves was mid-December last year, No Age circa 2006 and Weezer pre-1994 before them, Sydney’s Temper Trap are so tragically hip and beautiful that with the simple turn of a day-by-day “famous quotesâ€

"Sweet Disposition" is a pretty good song, but the rest of the album didn't do anything for me.

After a few listens to the album, I like Sweet Disposition, but that's sorta where it ends for me. Fader is an okay song, but the album is certainly much less than what I expected after what I'd read about them in other places.

And I don't know anything about that blog, it's just something I came across while looking into the band, so I apologize so very deeply for the double suckage of this post.
