I felt the same way - When Deadringer came out, it was my favorite forever. However, that album has lost a lot of it's luster once I discovered how heavily he sampled some of the original artists/songs (Brian Auger "Tiger", "Hey Hey" by Gershon Kingsley, etc.)

That being said, I'm giving it the nod over the lastest (probably 4th-best) Spoon record - partly for Nostalgia, partially because I enjoy it more...
