AMG says it's a brooding masterpiece head and shoulders above most hard rock albums of the decade.

Is it?

Above most hard rock records of the decade goes without saying; it's friggin' Homme and Lanegan. If "brooding" means slow-growing, then possibly a masterpiece. It's got all the right stuff but hasn't clicked for me yet. Certainly not as immediate as Songs For The Deaf.

np: Mark Lanegan - "Sideways In Reverse"

last 10 songs played:

Bob Dylan - "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again"
The Posies - "Compliment?"
Morphine - "Miles Davis' Funeral"
The Futureheads - "Man Ray"
Andrew Bird - "Skin Is, My"
Eisley - "I Wasn't Prepared"
Old 97's - "Indefinitely"
Elvis Costello & The Attractions - "I Stand Accused"
Love & Rockets - "Waiting For The Flood"
Stereolab - "Exploding Head Movie"

np: Men At Work - "F-19"

(by the way, someone should have Elvis CosteLOL as a username somewhere)

Thought it wasn't coming out in North America until next month, but hey.
