I'm not talking about compilations, these are strictly albums, released AS ALBUMS.
It's damn hard to do... hell, even Revolver has "Yellow Submarine".

Reason I'm posting about this now, is that I am currently listening to one of those rare albums:

Not a misstep on the entire damn thing.
And I am not talking about those albums that use filler to move ahead the feel of the record, like Stone Roses' debut; but an album that has NO FILLER, WHATSOEVER.

Filler's pretty subjective (like everything, I guess). Most people feel like "Yellow Submarine" is pretty weak, but it sticks out way too much to be considered "filler", IMO. I mean, they titled a movie after it.

Teenager Of The Year

If it isn't exactly a correct answer, it's awfully close.

I never liked that one, and sold it back. I'm thinking that, after giving it some space, maybe I should find a (very) cheap copy somewhere and have another, fresh listen... especially since Workbook hasn't held up like I thought it would.

I think it's the only 100% interesting solo album he's put out.

Workbook is great but BSOR is a series of near-perfect raging howls that somehow feels melodic.

Man, even my favorite album of all time (A Series of Sneaks) has a couple of filler tracks ("Chloroform" and "Staring at the Board").

So, I guess the answer is none. None more black.

I'll throw out Sticky Fingers as an album with no filler.

And Aquemini would be the best rap album ever made, but for "Mamacita"

I think jewels got this one right for the hip-hop album, or at least as close as a hip-hop album can come.

No, I'm talking about "Don't Stop".
It's just "Waterfall" played backwards, fer chrissakes. (By the way, I love "Waterfall".)

That Stone Roses debut sets a pretty low bar for "perfect". Makes sense coming from all of you though.

albums that come closest IMO:

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Yes - Close to the Edge (although sections of the suite seem disposable, so this is sort of cheating)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Genesis - Foxtrot
Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed (a better case can probably be made for Sticky Fingers)
The Cars - S/T

Surprised more people haven't mentioned a couple of Stooges and VU albums that I'm not as high on.
