[quote]While the rumours have been brewing for awhile now, today we finally have the official announcement: Sub Pop will reissue Nirvana’s downright classic debut album, Bleach, to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The concert recording is of a show that went down at the Pine Street Theatre in Portland, OR, on February 9, 1990, and Nirvana’s setlist included such tracks as “Love Buzz,â€

Damn. Courtney must still be pissed at Dave Grohl. Authorizing a reissue of the album from which DG will accrue no income.

Don't CDs only have a life of, what, 20-25 years?

The first CD's I bought (Dead Kennedys and The Smiths) are now 22 years old.

Play fine on my 13 year old CD player.

Edit: Bleach sucks.

SubPop reissues their own shit, though. But yeah, it's cool that the rights for this album weren't sold off to Geffen or whatever.

Not that I want this reissue at all. I'm sure the price will be great, but I don't care about a bonus disc that's just a live show.

My first knee jerk reaction was this, then why? Then, cash grab by Sub Pop.

But, I pullled it out over the weekend and I forgot that I used to play the hell out of that record in the mid-90's. I think the thing I usually think of when listening to it is how much of a leap Cobain took in songwriting and melody in the 2 years between the release of Bleach and Nevermind.

I guess, for me, their later success hurts how I hear Bleach. There are some songs on there that are just kind of weak to me. Mostly the Melvins rip offs. That being said, I still love "Love Buzz", "About a Girl", "Blew", "School", "Negative Creep", and "Sifting".

I think if they had never released another record they would've at least been one of those bands that get mentioned as "underground touchstone" bands and "Love Buzz" or "About a Girl" would probably be on Rhino's '90's Underground" box set or something.

Love Buzz wasn't their song though.

This is top 20 of all time for me. Far and away my favorite Nirvana album.

It's kind of bizarre that Bleach is 20 years old.
