No solace. Not when I also have to watch Matt Staff break the NFL record for most times sacked in a season.

Are you comparing YOUR BOY to David Carr?

I do believe that might be the straw to break FT's nerve. He will not see his fellow Tejano excoriated like that.

I said the exact same shit on Sketch's FB message about this. You can't say your retired twice and make two comebacks without having something terrible happen to you. If there is any karma or justice in this world, he'll have one of his legs facing the opposite direction and barely hanging from a tendon for this one.

I wish Sahel Kazemi would have met Brent, instead.

Just read that the Vikes next preseason tilt is with KC, with the following wish appended: Let Bernie Pollard do Favre like he did the Dreamboat.

Favrenfreude indeed.

Except that without Brett Favre those Green Bay people wouldn't have a Championship to hang their hats on in the last 40 years; I think its ok if he goes and does this for a year or whatever.

Further: if not for a Favre interception, we would have had the Packers in the Super Bowl against undefeated New England, & the Packers would have lost. So, Brent kept up from 40 more years of thrillhousian smugness.

Oh, shit, why am I defending that bastard? I would rather an undefeated Dreamboat, with as many Super Bowl rings as Bradshaw & Montana (don't have an heart-attack, FT!), than deal with Favre's Hamlet routine.

At least the Dreamboat wasn't a one & done Super Bowl player.

(Yup. Still bitter over '98 Super Bowl game.)

They had a thing going. He loved Wisconsin, and Wisconsin loved him back, bigtime, and not just for a few years either. So when he signs (potentially) with their biggest rival instead of retiring (for the second time), your take is that Wisconsin should still feel NO ill will? None? I'm just making sure I read you right here. Again, I don't know nothin from nothin. But this "without him they had shit so they're not allowed to feel let down" thing doesn't strike me as ... realistic? I just feel like it doesn't work that way.

Likewise, Bloor was not upset by Glavine's move to the Mets, or Smoltz's turn with the Sawkx.

Yeah I guess there are some pertinent parallels.

I think Bloor would argue "as much as you do, Cappy", since you & the Mate, same as Brent, didn't see fit to stay here.

Jay Cutler is going to give that team quite a boost... It won't be quite Dungy showing up in Indy & giving the Colts a defense to pair to the offense, but the new qb will allow the scoring with the ball to complement the defense enough to possibly win the division. (I expect Bears & Packers to be battling for that with about 11 wins.)

As to the individuals at QB in the division, Rodgers, Cutler, & Stafford are kind of like the Ghostbusters, & Tarvaris could have easily been the black guy in that equation -- & along comes Brent to fuck it up.

Well, asshole, don't come crying to me when Gozer destroys the Sears Tower.

Its rhetorical so "not at all" is ok.

I will say this: If he had been traded to anywhere even a little bit less boring than GB, he'd be dead, because allegedly he was one fucked up individual during his time in Atlanta.
