Aw shit, the Promethium Cup happens in the Elite Eight. It was sure nice getting two albums this far.
I'll go Interpol. I like Kid A, but actually listen to Interpol more frequently.

Fuck, I'm starting to wish Belle & Sebastian won the last round. Seeing Interpol beat Kid A would actually be far worse because it's a drastically inferior version of pretty much the same thing.

You may have a point.

Kid A obviously.

TOTBL. But how has this record made it this far? It's pretty mediocre.

It beat some impressive albums to get here: King of Leon's Aha Shake Heartbreak in the 1st round, the Hold Steady's Boys and Girls in America in the 2nd round, and MMJ's Z in the Sweet 16.

Yeah, I've voted against it in every round except this one. It's not that I dislike it. I'm more suprised that everyone likes it so much.

I like it a lot. Great rainy day album, almost as good on an overcast day. Listen to it more often than I'd like to admit, and never listen to Interpol's other albums...

thats fucking insane. it's not better than any of those. its fairly close with Aha Shake Heartbreak, but Z and BAGIA are in my decade top 20. I think Antics is a far superior album to TOTBL. it just keeps truckin on in this contest.

its about a 6 out of 10 in my book, but still better than TOTBL which really only has one song.

Same here. I actually have no problem with it, "PDA", "Untitled", "NYC", "Hands Away", and "Stella...." are all still pretty solid to my ears. The rest though is merely the same type of sound with songs that aren't quite as good IMO.

My issue with them has never been the execution of the music, it's been with some absolute cringeworthy lyrics at times.

And I agree with Drink in that "Antics" is an abomination outside of that first single they had off of it.

They're both albums I've sold back... or tried to sell back. But Kid A gets the nod for having better album art.
