Fact: the Web site I write and produce for clocked over 7 million hits from more than a million unique visitors last month alone, and is the music news authority in the busiest music city/scene in the country.

Fact: your blog has generated a whopping zero comments.

What was that you were saying about writing something no one will read?

Poor wording on my part.

2nd swing; would anyone be able to tell the difference?

dude, Jukeboxer is simply there for me to share music and write blurbs, not to see how many people i can get commenting on it.

i actually have a real job, unlike the thousands of failing music writers out there.

I'd like to interrupt this argument to say that I'm not enjoying these Dead Weather songs. I like the White Stripes but rarely listen to them on my own time. I really like Brendan Benson's solo stuff but only enjoy a couple songs by the Raconteurs. I love the Kills. I'm beginning to think I like Jack White more in theory than in practice.

How the fuck did this get by me???

Friend called yesterday and said he was going to see The Dead Weather and did I know them. Nope. Terrible name. Depressing prog band? Looked them up and it's my fucking girlfriend!!! Everything she's done starting with Discount, I've eaten right up. Absolutely gay for The Kills.

Went to their show tonight. Awesome. But it worried me. I was at The Kills not very long ago. Small venue, few hundred people. This show was at a much larger theater, lots of people. She's going to make a ton more with this band than The Kills. As good as this stuff is, if she stops making Kills albums because of this....

Anyway, good stuff, great show. Can't believe I didn't know about this.

I guess I could make one since a friend burned it for me on CD. Check back later.

i don't know if they're still on this tour or doing something else, but the Screaming Females were in some opening slots for Dead Weather. they are great (Screaming Females, not Dead Weather).

I'm normally on board with all things Jack White, and while this isn't teddible, it's not really doing it for me, either.

Same here. I listened to it again this morning after seeing this thread pop up and I'm just not feeling it at all.

Doesn't even reach the good, not great, work of The Stripes or The Kills IMO.

When I read the descriptors of it, "swamp blues", "skuzzy guitars", etc., it sounds like something I'd be into but it just comes off as uninspired knock off music.
