i don't listen to the radio, watch mtv, or go to clubs or places where a lot of those songs are apt to be played. thus i haven't heard them. i also don't care enough to seek them out. never really been into singles.

the fact that there are only 34 votes on this simple poll proves the point that this board is sorry as hell for the most part.

Please. That list couldn't be shittier if Rolling Stone picked the worst songs of the 00s. What's the point in voting in that? And why is voting in pfork selection of the "best of" superior to voting in Obner's own generated "best of" the 00s, which you disdain?

I think the average for the 2000s poll are about 55 voters. I'm guessing no one gives a fuck about these songs or hasn't heard them.

this poll started over the weekend, and there is a lot less going on here then. that is part of the reason why i had it last for four days, so it goes into the work week.

i going to listen to every song one more time before i finally vote. it probably won't change my vote but my pick, so far, has zer0 votes.

listen and VOTE, please. or is "Hey Ya!" really going to win the Obner poll?

i don't think any of those songs are the best song of the decade.

Also there's two songs by LCD whatever on that list. That alone speaks volumes.

Or how predictable Pitchfork can be.

I find both of those LCD singles to be terribly weak and I like most of their stuff.

Heartbeats by the Knife or Maps, YYY are about equal as far as greatness for me. I went with Heartbeats based on, probably, a few more plays on repeat.

Bingo. There isn't a single song in that poll that I like. It's all mainstream shit.

I actually like the All My Friends song. Losing my edge is terrible. I can't even imagine listening to it again.

you are right that it's mostly mainstream, but you are really wrong about it being shit. I know it's easy to complain about pitchfork, but their top 20 is solid and hard to argue with. Especially in a decade as musically disjointed as this one, I think they did a great job of picking songs that were popular because they are great songs.

I don't know about 25% of the songs, so I can't critique if those are any good.
