Joe Sttrummer: The Harder They Fall 7"

A 3 song 7" with 2 versions of the Jimmy Cliff Classic The Harder They Come, one a studio version with the Long Beach All Stars and a live version with the Mescelaros. B-side has a great live version of Rudi, A Message to You, also with the Mescelaros. If you dig ska and Joe Strummer, hard not to love it.

I dig this, and judging by my wife's taste in singer/songwriter love, I thought she'd dig. She did not. Too bad.

This is one of the best band photos that I have ever seen.

Joise Cotton: Convertible Music

Excellent collection of new wavey pop-rock from 1982. Fun, retro feeling throughout. Johnny Are You Queer? was the hit but the whole album really is solid from top to bottom. And, Josie was all way cool and hot and stuff. Really holds up surprisingly well over the years.

It's digestible, non-groundbreaking electronic-pop with a few hooks. Fun to listen to, but nothing more.

Sounds like something I'd like. Thanks Stu.

It's OK. It's another one of my least favorites of the whole year, actually.

I don't actively dislike it, but I'm not really into it, either. It's kind of obnoxious, but not quite annoying. Upbeat, but not really fun or catchy in a good way. It's generally the more irritating parts of it that stick with me.

Edit: left out the word "not" at a key point
