Thankfully, they sell Intelligentsia at the convenience store downstairs at our office.

Winner. I have 2+ lbs of Intelligentsia beans in my freezer at home.

Right now I'm going through some Trader Joe's Sumatra.

Normally though I drink a concoction called Helter Skelter that is roasted by these folks: Greencastle Coffee Roasters

and yes, that Frank Zappa as Juan Valdez.

Speaking of Trader Joe's, this is some seriously good coffee:

I drink a cup of THIS (Bolivian dark roast) in my office every morning during the workweek.

And I have a bag of some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee I bought at Harris Teeter. I'll have to check out the retailer when I get back to the house later today.

EDIT: It's Christopher Bean Coffee's Jamaican Blue Mountain blend. I must've bought it at Kroger or Publix because I don't think Harris Teeter carries it.

Would have thought your progressive self would prefer the only certified free trade, volunteer-operated coffeeshoppe in Milwaukee, Brewing Grounds for Change.

Anodyne is just Alterra with a worse business plan. By which I mean, with a single location. Ano wishes it could be the George Webb's of coffee -- but, shit, that would require real work & a compromising of "principle".

(Alterra, meanwhile, has no scruples, & never did. The ownership lucked into the coffee business, & now they are just all "like Master P, makin' money, G". Have nannies for their kids & everything. But not having to worry about tucking those in makes the key-bumps go down more smoothly.)

I really enjoy stumptown, but around here I'll pick up Illy.

My favorite coffee ever is La Colombe.

My roommates bringing me back some coffee from Costa Rica this evening, which I'm psyched for.

It's fantastic.

The cafe in Philly has had some of the most unbearably pretentious staff, but it's still worth it.

Are the Keurig one cup machines worth a damn? Like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Keurig-Personal-S ... 697&sr=8-8

I have a coffee maker but preferred the french press my brother took with him when he moved out. I can get another one of those, but was just weighing my options. Or maybe I should just stick with the coffee maker I currently have but don't ever use.

I think black putin has one of those machines. My mom does, and I enjoy it well enough, but I've only had the Paul Newman coffee from it.

I currently use a french press for coffee, and while I like it, I wish it'd keep shit hot longer. I guess that just guarantees freshness, though.

I see no reason to have a big expensive machine taking up counter space, and to lock myself into having to buy coffee pods from that company. The french press... a good idea in 1890, a good idea today.

It's convenient and consistent but expensive. I love mine but I have loved some crazy coffee contraptions over the years.
