Glad to see some Johnny Hodges love. Great stuff.

Saw a thread about something to play loud and what I'm playing right now always sounds good cranked up to maximum volume...

Hüsker Dü: Zen Arcade

Sometimes I get annoyed with this album often getting more attention than New Day Rising, which I tend to prefer. But, even though there is a lot of guitar squall filler on here, it really is an amazing album, especially in light of this thing coming out of the hardcore scene. I remember picking up this and the Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime at the record shop in the same day as they both came out around the same time, probably one of my best double purchases ever. Crank the fuck outta this thing, fill you head with chemicals and just enjoy.

hockey mind chaos
this was really boring. i saw something about them in the new issue of spin and they likened them to a less spacey MGMT but there's nothing outstanding about them. i should've probably stayed away when i saw their song being used in a fucking jc penney commercial.

bottin horror disco
more disco than horror. i was hoping this was going to sound like zombie zombie but it just sounded like it was done by someone who has no sense of what a horror film should sound like.

Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works 85-92

Seminal album that you either have no interest in ever hearing or you're already heard. Not strictly ambient but laid back throughout. Easily one of my favorite electronic releases of all time.
