Doherty is talented and doesn't have a sneaker habit, so yeah.

you have to be kidding.

Dj AM: wannabe, sorry ass dj playing every sorry ass remix you can think off (with a crack/sneaker habit)

Pete Doherty: brilliant storyteller/lyricist/guitarist for one of the best bands in the 00's (with a crack habit)

This guy was way more famous than he should have been.

The comparison is viable as long as either are doing risky enough shit to end themselves.

Granted I think PD is way more talented, probably has more to look forward to with his talent. But, who knows struggling artists find ways to do themselves in all the time.

he's definitely more talented, but he's just as much of a douchebag as DJ AM was.

I have very little knowledge of the guy, as I'm too old & anti-hipster. But I recall hearing an episode of "Loveline" several years ago where he talked about his addictions, & the man told some flat-out harrowing stories. He actually seemed like an OK guy who'd been thru some hairy shit. It was gripping enough that I remember that show all these years later.

Hopefully some of you snarky fucks will never have such stories to tell.

not to be a dick - but i could really care less about dj am. i don't understand what the big deal is, he was a shitty dj who dj'ed at shitty parties.

summer of death ensues.

I know what you mean, Dri. What I find ironic is that the guy started as a fuckin' nobody, loss a ton of weight, ended up in the celebrity scene, got himself engaged to Nicole Richie (certain death), cheated death again in plane crash and was stupid enough to keep taunting death by taking drugs. Way to go, buddy --- now you're really fucked up.

Yeah, this is the general reaction I have seen or heard.
I understand how hard it is to break from addiction and how easy it is to relapse, but this douchebag survived a plane crash that should have killed him and then allegedly went and wasted his life away on the same drugs that he had once kicked.

He was more famous for banging celebutantes and a D-List celebrity than he was for actually being a respected DJ.

I can't say I knew much about DJ AM until I read that. That's a pretty rough life.
