Yeah, this is the general reaction I have seen or heard.
I understand how hard it is to break from addiction and how easy it is to relapse, but this douchebag survived a plane crash that should have killed him and then allegedly went and wasted his life away on the same drugs that he had once kicked.

this happens a lot - people get hurt, start taking painkillers and can be back on their original drugs in weeks.

he's sort of in the Samantha Ronson school of DJ's...plays records and knows famous people, whooop tee doo.

I didn't know much about him etiher, but diplo and ?uestlove were tweeting about his influence on each of them on Friday night. Seemed weird to me that he would be an influence on either of those guys.

Premier, Just Blaze and A-trak have all had really complimentary things to say about him. Didn't expect that either.

Maybe what they learned was how to get famous without necessarily being really good at what you do?

(I didn't mean to imply anything about those folks' abilities, because, as I'm sure no one doubts, I haven't the faintest who any of them are.)

Yea I am not sure what you are calling bullshit on, but here is what they said:

@diplo Dj am was the first guy that was a big deal that believed in me, and gave me props

@questlove It's one thing to lose a teacher I never met. But it's some other shit to lose a teacher I knew

Chris, he was successful without an abundance of talent, knew a lot of famous people, and collected shoes.

he deserved death.

They're just annoyed that Crazytown's biting of 311's style devalued the resale price for their limited edition Grassroots vinyl.

(I would have said Blue Album, but everybody would have jumped down my throat that Blue is a Weezer album.)

(& to that end, bands with solid colour album art need to expand their palate. I mean, three -- THREE! -- Black Albums (Tap, Metallica, HOVA)? When are we going to get the Cyanic Album?)

He didn't take records and blend them with another record as good as other people.

It's a deadly serious art form, tanner. Have some respect.

The official told The Associated Press that six pills were found in the celebrity disc jockey's stomach and that the pill in his throat appeared to be the powerful painkiller OxyContin.

he WAS in a horrible accident only a year ago so his need for painkillers is not surprising

i'm a social worker and there are 13 year olds with more interesting profound lives. He survived a fatal plane crash, that i give him sympathy and credit for, but instead of creating a major turning point for his life and maybe becoming more than he had ever dreamed as a human being he destroyed himself over it. Waste.
