If there is one late night summer album this year, here it is. Calming, mysterious, funky, and nostalgic pop music.

Memory Tapes is some dude from New Jersey, and he's produced a mighty fine debut album here. Throw it on with a cup of tea, or a hit of acid.

Favorite tune: Pink Stones

Nice. That definitely sounds like something I'd like.

I don't know if this will be up my alley, will definitely check it out though.

I really like these threads FWIW.

Much hyped, and well deserved. Once again, perfect for summertime, especially the fantastic "Laura" which lyrically sounds like something Milo from the Descendents should have come up with. One of my favorite songs I've heard so far this year.

The album is hazy, fun, and loosely played lo-fi pop music, with an early days rock n roll slant.

The Memory Tapes has got a few keepers. It pushes the style edge of that genre for me like the neon indian did. But I'll let it sit a bit before full conclusion.

edit: the album cover is cool

On first listen, it should definitely be something I like but it's just not grabbing me. I'll have to give a few more listens.

I'm digging the Girls lots. Was the first track Lust for Life in some movie recently? It sounds very familiar.

edit: so I found it, a video :
