HALF-PRICE BOOKS

Seriously the most-fun retailer that I have ever experienced. I can spend hours in there.
Books (of course)
CDs
DVDs
Vinyl albums
Video games
Gaming systems
and other shit that I'm probably forgetting about

And the name of the store is no lie.
Example (from a previous thread):

Just felt like singing their praises.

Went there yesterday, with no intention of buying anything. Just went to kill some time.
Left with a book for Sharon, a comic book for Ethan, a CD for Cary, and Season 1 of SCTV on DVD for the family.

Bless that store to hell.

I don't like to go in there because I come out with stuff.

That store is pretty awesome. If you get on their email list, they send around coupons every now and then for large % off deals.

It's a great store. I visit it at least once a week. Sometimes I'm completely shocked at what I find in their bargain bins.

They are having a 20% off sale this weekend, which they claim starts Thursday.

(They almost never have any James Rollins books in stock. Only once have they had any and I scooped up the 2 I needed. I bought the other 2 I needed from half.com)

I likes 'em.

Are they owned by a larger corporation, or independent?

have they been playing that listless faux reggae jingle on the radio in your area?

"there's a big sale at half-price books

Just picked up:
Palace Music - Viva Last Blues
in perfect condition.

$2 in the clearance bin!

So happy to replace the vinyl that I lost in the great Christmas flood of 2010.

Do you know how the chain works? Are the locations franchised, or is it corporate? Just kinda curious...

Half Price is one of the things I really miss about Austin. Nothing up here compares.
