Not to jump to the defense of the ONION, which I only read today for the occasional Jean Teasdale or Smoove B resuscitation, but the sports sheet is written by DJ Gallo, that noted font of "comedy" from the defunct SportsPickle.com & ESPN Page 2.

So, it's not anywhere close to old-school ONION -- "Clinton mauled by tiger" (from the "this issue created by the 4th grade of Lakeview School" issue) or "Area bassist fellated". Apparently, though, that's ok. But a lot of people lose their sense of purpose when they move to Hoboken & do blow every waking minute.
