Has any other band in history garnered more good will from two albums than weezer?

No matter how much miserable shit these guys put out, tons of people still get excited about new material, only to inevitibly be disappointed.

They suck, always have in my book.

If you haven't deleted it yet, you must have no will to live...

Oh I deleted it, I just think it may still be in the recycle bin.

We should keep in mind that Weezer have a habit of releasing first singles that are very different than the rest of the album (Hash Pipe, Dope Nose, etc.).

I hope you're right...that was straight boring

Someone should smack Rivers over the head with a vinyl copy of Pinkerton.

If I had one, I wouldn't want to risk $300+ on ebay just to send him a message...

Maybe just frisbee copies of the "Hash Pipe" 7" at his head instead..

Haha, if someone pays $300. I bought mine at Hot Topic like 2 years ago for $9.99. Its definitely been repressed.

I'm not sticking up for this single in anyway, (I don't mind it) but I'd like you to name a few better albums in '94 and '96. If you want of course. :D

For those who still want it. After this it's getting deleted.

Its pretty bad, so don't blame me.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but '96 had...
DJ Shadow - Entroducing...
Beck - Odelay
Wilco - Being There
Tricky - Pre-Millineum Tension
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James album
Tool - AEnima
Beth Orton - Trailer Park

As for '94, well yeah the blue album is an all-time fave. And as far as new stuff goes, the "Keep Fishin'" video is awesome. Green album is decent. Never gave Maladroit a proper listen.

Having fun, maybe? Doing what they want, not necessarily what anyone wants to hear? Being "true" to themselves... All these things, too, are claimed by the nouveau subset of Weezer acolytes, i.e. the "Emo Nation", to explain why their emotive-clowning selves do what they do. (In actuality, the Emoheads usually only do so to heap scorn on the pablum-fed sheep who are just really nice people... It's all ironic, n' shit. Eh?)

I can name hundreds of better albums in both years, but the ones who make that question truly ridiculous are:

1994
Crooked Rain Crooked Rain by Pavement
Bee Thousand by GBV
Protection by Massive Attack
Dummy by Portishead
Tortoise's debut
Mars Audiac Quintet by Stereolab
Grace by Jeff Buckley

1996
Endtroducing by DJ Shadow
El Producto by Walt Mink (All talk about Weezer should be directed toward this band)
Odelay by Beck
Call the Doctor by Sleater kinney
Murder Ballads by Nick Cave
Repetition by Unwound
Seacaucus by The Wrens

This doesn't even scratch the surface.
