how was it?

I think one of the things I liked best about the movie is that near ambiguity with which the story is presented.

it's great, but yeah, I was having that exact conversation with the co-worker that I borrowed the book from- they go into a lot more detail and thoughts of the characters, and while they reveal that the story is even more fucked up than you thought, by a factor of a million, the ambiguity of the movie made it creepier.

By far one of the best writers I have encountered, I love Calvino!
Certainly one of the best at pushing boundaries and stretching the conventions of how a novel should be...enjoy!
I am about 100 pages into the new Pynchon novel-- so far so cool, nothing to get hum about, very approachable Its got a lot of music and LA references--the music I get, the LA I can guess.

I bought this to read while on vacation, but couldn't get into it while in South Carolina...go figure. I'll probably wait and read this in the winter.

The Forever War - Joe Haldeman

Really, really like it so far. Sci fi novel about an epic war man fights with an alien species. Gritty and violent. Sort of a mix between Alien and Black Hawk Down. Also interesting that it appears Ridley Scott is in the early stages of making a film based on the novel.

After basically proselytizing for the first 2 books in the American Underworld Trilogy, and waiting 7 years for this to be published, I pronounce this epic piece of dogshit a complete waste of time, money, and effort:

Really good for his first time writing a novel. The ending kinda punches you in the gut.
