Honky Tonk Man: The Essential Johnny Horton 1956-1960

2 Disc set of classic country material. The title track opener is a hard act to follow, but disc 1 keeps going with a series of honky tonk classics that combine country and rockabilly sounds. Disc 2 gathers hits like Battle of New Orleans that spread his fame, but its the honky tonk stuff on disc 1 and the less listened to tracks that are real highlights of this set for me.
