Just discovered this National Geographic series last night. Ended up starting an episode on Ninja Video just to check it out, and 2 hours later I finished the second episode and was thirsty for more.

Basically, it's this irish guy, who doesn't know anything about the wilderness (well he knows a minimal amount), who's boyhood dream was to live in the wild.

So he gets dropped off in northern Canada (the Yukon) and is left to fend for himself. With a 17,000 bear population mixed with his massive bear-encounter paranoia, a very entertaining, almost blair witch style outdoors show is produced.

He started on July 1st 2009 and once a week he paddles across this lake and drops off the previous weeks tapes that he's film of himself and they get picked up, edited down, and broadcast on National Geographic.

Makes for a wicked show. Highly recommended.
