Anyone here know of any cd data base programs that are easy to use (and free to be found on the www)?

I don't know how they work, but my brother made one a long time ago where all you had to do was insert a disc and the program read the disc and automatically knew what album it was and then i just added it to my data base.

Steer me in the correct direction please

When I put a CD in to rip, I direct EAC to tag the tracks from http://www.freedb.org.

Thought it does make some mistakes and is time consuming, http://www.musicbrainz.org can help on things you aren't quite as sure about.

but i think he wants a database file to reference like excel, right bort?

Not simply a program that recognizes a disc when you put it in.
