I knew there was a lot of hype for Ole Miss but did not realize that they are ranked in the Top 5. Should be an interesting game tonight.

Sure it is. We've just played like shit there for the last twenty years. Its not the stadium's fault.

Plus, as a native of South Georgia, Stu, you should understand the pull that wing of the Dawg Nation has.

But what of alternating the game between Raymond James (is that still the name of the Bucs stadium?) & Georgia Dome, in lieu of annual play at Alltel, if maximizing attendance is the goal?

Fuck that noise. The game stays in Jacksonville.

Attendance isn't really an issue, nor is the fact that the game is actually played in the state of Florida (Jacksonville could really be in either state); at issue is that Georgia has only won 3 times since 1990 (after basically dominating the series for the previous 25 years): this makes some Dawg fans (especially ones like Stu who like to complain about everything) feel that the game should be played elsewhere.

Plus, let's face it, Jacksonville is gonna lose the Jags at some point and they will need that stadium for something aside from the occasional high school game or ACC Championship Game.

I find it quite humorous that Florida Atlantic trailed the Cocks by only a point last saturday, and that the Owls put up more points against Spurrier and Co. than the current #5 team in the country.

Tomorrow I'm attending the 300th consecutive sell-out game for the Huskers, which is currently the record. Notre Dame sits in a distant 2nd with 207 consecutive sell-outs, but I don't believe they should ever hold the record after having their stadium taken over by Nebraska fans in 2000.

The local paper did an article about how that compares to on of our neighbors to the West, Wyoming, and these two tidbits were added to the end of the article.

Last week, for instance, Washington, where Nebraska plays next year, welcomed No. 3 USC to 72,500-seat Husky Stadium and the attendance was 61,889.

In the Big 12, Oklahoma has the longest consecutive-games sellout streak after Nebraska at 64. Kansas is believed to be next in line — at five.

[soapbox] Living in the South, I will say that overall, there is more passion for college football down here than in the midwest, but, the best team fans in college football are (and always will be) Nebraska fans. Knowledgeable, polite, sincere, and most importantly, loyal. All teams go through their ups and downs, but there aren't any other teams that still sell out their stadium even when they are down. No fair-weather fans allowed in Nebraska. [/soapbox]

But does their Tom Osborne worship compare to Floridians's adoration of Teh Tebow?

No it does not, he lost some support when he chose to run for Governor while holding a position in Congress. He gained some of it back when he fired Callahan, but most of the worship from that went to Pellini.

South Georgia Dawgs would rather the game be played in Athens. More of us = home game, plus I would be able to go to the game every once in a while. The fact it's in Jacksonville and it's a major pain in the ass has kept me from seeing it in person since 2000.

Since the game is played in Jacksonville at stadium much smaller in size than compared to both Sanford and Ben Hill Griffin stadium are tickets to the Cocktail Party more expensive than regular season tickets?

Don't know. I don't think I've ever bought a ticket to that game. The times I've gone I had someone hook me up. I wouldn't know how to go about getting them.

You have specific polling showing that South Georgia Dawgs not named Sarynard the Favrit would prefer the game be in Athens, right?

I have only ventured to Jacksonville once, and I count it among my favorite memories as a Georgia fan (of course, we won)
