That Twins-Tigers play-in game may have been the most exciting game I've seen since Game 7 of the '91 World Series.

I dare say the '07 Pads-Rockies game 163 was better. Featured a bunch of back and forth leads, a grand slam by Adrian Gonzalez, a massive blown save by Trevor Hoffman, and Matt Holiday being called safe to end it even though he was really out. It was hands down the most intense game I've ever seen. It fucked the Padres up so badly they only started to recover a few months ago. It was on MLBN on Saturday morning as one of their "all-time games" but I couldnt' stomach watching it.

Holiday being called safe is STILL something Phillies fans rue. If it wasn't for that, their world series last year would have been number 2 in a row.

...ok, probably not. But the Padres would have been much easier to deal with than those damn Rockies.

Unemployment = actually being able to go to Philly for today's game, but not being able to afford a ticket. Sucks.

i was at that game, and it's easily at least one of the top - if not top - live sporting events i've witnessed. i've never been part of such an electric atomsphere.

they're calling for 30's and snow here for saturdays game.

i am completely ripshit over that game last night. fucking tigers. minnesota won? minnesota is part of canada and canadians don't play baseball. now i'm stuck rooting for the yankees because i simply loathe the red sox. goddamn the freaking midwest. dammit.

i really hope tbs sets up some new camera angles for the remainder of their games. i must've seen the dude in the puckett jersey in the left field bleachers once every inning and there was no decent close replay of granderson doubled off first either.

that being said, amazing game last night. i had not been watching baseball regularly for the last few weeks, but that sparked my interest again. except now instead of rooting for teams, i'll just root against those that i dislike a lot.

Agreed. The two close plays I saw late in the game got no help from the replays I saw.

I'm pretty sure Detroit is closer to Canada than Minneapolis is.

I can't take Ron Darling's voice. It's like some sort of insipid hybrid of Gene Simmons in full CHAIM mode and Donald Trump. MAKE IT STOP!!!

It definitely is, plus the Twins have two World Series Titles to Detroit's one since the 80's and haven't had two 100 loss seasons this decade.

True. But Minnesotans are more Canadian than are Michiganders.

I hope they get new announcers. The ones for the twins/ NY game were high school quality.
