Quote:
The Creep hitmakers are contemplating selling individual songs one at a time rather than full-length efforts, which Yorke insists requires a concerted effort to complete.

He says, "None of us want to go into that creative hoo-ha (commotion) of a long-play record again. Not straight off. I mean, it's just become a real drag. It worked with In Rainbows because we had a real fixed idea about where we were going. But we've all said that we can't possibly dive into that again. It'll kill us."

The star went on to clarify the band isn't necessarily against the concept of an album, adding, "Obviously, there's still something great about the album. It's just, for us, right now, we need to get away from it a bit. In Rainbows was a particular aesthetic and I can't bear the idea of doing that again."

It must be so painful to be such a tortured genius. "Oh, music is so hard, so real, that we just can't possibly extract any joy or satisfaction from creating and playing it."

you've never had a recording career, so how the fuck would you know how hard it is?

shut up rads. your constant hate towards these guys is almost as tired as your fake online persona.

Yep. Prior to y'all posting these I can't remember the last time I sat down and listened to Radiohead. Now I'm remembering why I used to like them so much; Johnny and Phil Selway bottom line. Whether or not you like the band (and it appears a good number of people on here don't), it's hard to argue the talent of those two guys.

That Thom is such a cocktease

[quote]It appears that Radiohead are even more sneaky and ingenious than we thought. Based on the MP3 that surfaced earlier this week, the Internet has been swarming with forethought into the possibility of a new Radiohead EP, Wall of Ice, dropping next week.

The .NFO file that was packaged with the original torrent for “These Are My Twisted Wordsâ€

DJ, do you love or hate Radiohead?

Curious as to why you would post this info.

Truthfully, I'm somewhat indifferent. They'd really have to move me to hate them, but I don't seem to have any affective reaction either in the positive or negative direction which probably seems like fence sitting, but it's not. I can honestly hear why people both love and hate them, and if I fucking hate something or if it pisses me off I'll put it out there so I'm not being shy about it or waiting to be told what to think.

Some of The Bends is okay by me, 'Just' still does it for me. I still like OK Computer and I fucking love Kid A. The last couple of albums haven't really done anything for me and I honestly go in without prejudice. I had Amnesiac on recently after it was up in the polls and jesus, I just really don't like that record, like I wanted to shut it off about a 1/3 of the way through, like why do I even own this?? Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows, pretty much the same. Completely indifferent. There's a song here or there, but overall I just don't get them anymore. I don't know what it is about Kid A but it's one of my favourite albums of the decade. So basically, I guess I'm a Kid A fan now, and less of a Radiohead fan.

The reason I posted the info is when I'm browsing music sites and see some news I know that, love them or hate them, folks love hearing about Radiohead. And like you with DBTesque stuff, it's fun to goof the enthusiasm ;).

there's no doubt in my mind that Thom leaked the new tune to What.cd.

"We've got this great idea for putting things out," he said, "but I can't tell you what it is, because someone will rip it off."

In a followup:

[quote]RADIOHEAD TO RECORD NEW ALBUM THIS WINTER
Posted on October 7th, 2009.

There’s been a lot of speculation on Radiohead’s next album. Would it ever be recorded? Or would be just get digital tracks, EP’s or whatever made the press. Ed O’Brien confirmed that a new Radiohead album (yes, album) is in the making.

It was the interview in The Believer that kick-started a lot of rumours on Radiohead’s future. Thom Yorke told the magazine: “None of us want to go into that creative hoo-ha of a long-play record again.(…) But we’ve all said that we can’t possibly dive into that again. It’ll kill us.â€

The way I read this, the band will be making an album, but Thom will just phone in the vocals from his estate.
