So one of the bands I'm in has been asked if we'd be willing to put two of our songs into this film:

The backstory is that the writer/director is a good friend of the main singer/songwriter of our group.

Obviously, this would be way cool, but I've never gone through this process before with licensing songs for use in a film. I have a lot of homework to do.

Ask Derek and Josh. They had some songs in a film that played over the summer and they had some songs on the A & E show The Cleaner this past summer as well.

It's a bitch from what I've understood. And the payout takes a loooonng time.
