Last week, I took a trip through Montreal, Ottawa and Vermont. During this trip, I had a list of albums / CDs I was looking for. Both Montreal and Ottawa came up extremely short. However, I found every single thing I was looking for at Pure Pop in Burlington.

Nice record store, Burlington.

I wish I could say as much for the calzones at Mr. Mike's.

Only been up there once, but it seemed like a nice lil' lakeside town.

I wish I knew more about Burlington, but it's a bit of a drive and I don't have time for many day trips of late.

If I was not looking to move out of Vermont in the next few years I'd definitely move there.

Glad Vermont came through for you on the music front, though. I've heard good things about Bove's for Italian, though I'm not sure they have calzones.

I swear Burlington's farther from you Stace than Boston is.

Louden Wainwright III and Richard Thompson were playing in town together, but we couldn't stick around...

Yeah, "bit of a drive" is underestimating it, but that saying encompasses anywhere from a 1 hour to 6 hour drive for me.

You do take up as much of a day going to Burlington as you do going to Boston. I've got to be somehow right in the middle of them.

I think it takes about 2.5 for me to get there and a little over 3 to get to Boston. Or that's what I thought, anyway.

edit: I went to Burlington once, sometime in the late 80s probably. I do remember I saw a guy that looked like Elivs.

No it's not. A four hour drive in any direction will get me to countless cool spots. It's a good location.

The problem with driving to Burlington is I tend to get all touristy and make a lot of stops on the way up.

edit: Google says 2 hours 52 minutes by Interstate, 3 hours 37 minutes by state route.
